Currently, Betsy serves as the Executive Director at the Delaware Law Related Education Center where she works to assist the Delaware Judiciary in its efforts to improve the overall diversity of the Delaware Bar and Bench, by focusing in part on better outreach to area schools about the law and the opportunities a career in the law can offer. Previously, she served as the Director of the Wave Learning System for the Community Education Building, where she oversaw a program providing invaluable support to students through “near peer” mentors and also served as the Director of Advancement. Her work involved focusing on social-emotional learning, trauma-informed care, and academic tutoring, demonstrating her commitment to holistic education.
With a background that includes federal law clerkship, family law practice, and roles at prominent organizations like Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath, LLP and the Defender Association of Philadelphia, Betsy brings a unique blend of legal expertise and educational insight. Her seven years of experience as a classroom teacher, coupled with her non-profit leadership make her an invaluable addition to our board. She believes that education is the most powerful tool we can give to our youth, and that strong economies need strong public schools.
Betsy’s commitment to education and social justice align seamlessly with DelawareCAN’s mission. We are confident that her passion and expertise will enhance our collective efforts to advocate for the success of every student in Delaware. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Betsy Renzo as she embarks on this exciting journey with DelawareCAN. We are eager to benefit from her perspective and look forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly make.
